Last week, I tried archery for the first time. It’s something I’d want to try for many years, but for some reason I hadn’t. Turns out, I loved it. Pulling back and feeling all that power of the bow, then letting go—Snap! The arrow flies through the air towards the target.
There was something incredibly satisfying about the experience. As the hour continued, I refined my technique and by the end I was able hit a few directly into the center—bull’s eye!
An arrow gives you direction…When you shoot an arrow in a certain direction it goes in a specific direction…but if you can’t see the target or don’t know where the target is, it's difficult.
Sometimes in life it is not as easy as pointing the arrow at the target and “Viola” the arrow hits the bull’s eye. Sometimes it feels unclear where the bull’s eye is, like you are in blanket of mist not knowing where the target is or where to point the arrow.
Sometimes figuring our next steps and what direction to go is daunting. Whether it’s going for that new job, figuring out the next steps in your business, or finding that significant other.
What is the secret to that next step?
I am reminded of this quote.
“Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart. Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens.” Carl Jung
When you look inside, you find the secret…perhaps there is truth to that.
This is something we’ve pondered both in our lives and at 42 Dubonnet.
In fact, when you look inside our packaging you will find secrets inside…underneath the eye icon on your packaging you will find an icon of an animal that we support through our donation to the Everglades Foundation.
If you open up the packaging flat, on the inside you’ll see a pattern inspiration of the Everglades. Also, if you look closely on the outside of your packaging you’ll see the same everglades pattern hidden beneath the black art deco pattern.
We find our vision through what is important to us. When you look into 42 Dubonnet’s heart you’ll see we care about animals. If you follow us on social media, you’ll notice my mom’s dog, Bailey, means the world to her. Which is why when we began 42 Dubonnet, we knew love of animals would need to be woven into the fabric of our company to create a cruelty-free makeup line.
When you are doing something that speaks to you, you are fully engaged. Perhaps the secret IS simply looking into our hearts for our vision to become clear. When we have clarity things just seem to flow. We feel energized and excited. It’s then that our true self awakens and we find direction and the possibility of living our journey authentically and fully.
Do you have one of our products? If you do look and see how many animals you can spot in your packaging.
