KATHERINE: I work as a makeup artist, a writer, and an advocate. I love working with people. I also enjoy the wonderful makeup community, and I feel lucky to get to be a part of it and to have met some amazing people and artists.
42 DUBONNET: What’s one secret you learned when you started wearing / doing makeup?
KATHERINE: I am wearing 42 Dubonnet's XANTHIA LIP GLOSS
KATHERINE: I learned that primer is really important. Eye primer especially helps an eye look to last all day without the colors bleeding or creasing.
42 DUBONNET: What’s one of your secrets for how you do your own makeup?
KATHERINE: A trick I love for under-eye concealer is to use setting spray on a beauty sponge to set it. I find that this works better for fine lines than using a setting powder that can crease or look dry or cakey.
42 DUBONNET: What’s one of the juiciest secrets you’ve ever been told (one that won’t get you in trouble for sharing it)?
KATHERINE: I really love testing and trying new makeup products that are not on the market. Those are exciting secrets to keep and fun to watch products be launched!
42 DUBONNET: What’s one thing you’re curious about?
KATHERINE: I would really love to start a YouTube channel. I have pretty terrible stage fright, but I hope to be able to start one someday soon.
42 DUBONNET: What’s the most forbidden thing you’ve ever done?
KATHERINE: A while ago, I designed and got a tattoo without telling my family. Luckily for me, they ended up liking it. I think tattoos are a beautiful art of self-expression. I see a lot of beautiful tattoos in the makeup community.
42 DUBONNET: What’s your favorite look to create?
KATHERINE: I love a smoky eye with a nude lip color. I also love a vintage cat-eye with classic red lipstick. Adding glitter is also something I like to do to add a little glam.
42 DUBONNET: Do you have a photo you'd like to share with us of this look?
42 DUBONNET: What’s one secret for creating this look?
KATHERINE: I like to add a little color above the crease with a smoky eye to add depth. In this look I used purple. Sometimes I use burgundy or a burnt orange color.

Katherine also just sent us a look with our newest collection. In her photo below, she is wearing Hotsy-Totsy Metallic Eyeshadow in French 75
, Rose Collins
topped with LaLa Lola Illuminating Lipgloss.
I love how the gold highlight of French 75 shimmers on her lids.
