Blush Through History

When you think of the month of February, does Valentine’s Day immediately pop into your head? If it does, you definitely aren’t alone.

The loved-up holiday on February 14th warms up an otherwise chilly month and brings some cheer after weeks and weeks of winter weather. Love is in the air, with roses and chocolate hearts in abundance everywhere you look.

A whole day of celebrating love and romance is always bound to make some of us blush. And as much as we would like to keep that natural rosy flush throughout the rest of the year, life tends to get in the way. Busy schedules and responsibilities get prioritized over celebration of romance, and we forget to indulge.

So, it’s no wonder that blush and makeup have such a long history in our society. People have been trying to create the appearance of a naturally beautiful flush for centuries! I guess the saying is true… If you can’t make it, fake it!
